BeInSync vs. Remote Access Software
If you haven't yet tried BeInSync you may be wondering what is the difference between BeInSync and remote access (or remote control) applications such as Citrix GoToMyPC, Symantec PCAnywhere, VNC and many others. Although a key benefit of BeInSync is having your files with you anywhere, it is very different than the traditional remote access application.
What is traditional remote access?
Remote access, or more correctly, remote control from the likes of GoToMyPC and PCAnywhere typically means running a piece of software or surfing to a Web site, logging in and then working on the remote computer by streaming the image of remote computer's screen to the local machine. This allows the user to work on his or her remote computer as if he or she is sitting next to it (with some delay introduced due to the time it takes the communication to arrive).
What is BeInSync?
While BeInSync also enables accessing remote data via the Web, it does not offer the GoToMyPC or PCAnywhere remote control capabilities and does not include streaming of the user's remote computer screen
What BeInSync does is to keep the user's files and folders in sync across different computers, enabling the user to always have his or her data anytime, anywhere, without having to actively 'access' the data and retrieve it. Using remote access software involves the user having to proactively go after his or her data, but using BeInSync the data is seamlessly present where it needs to be.

What to choose?
If you need your files with you and not to worry about their whereabouts, BeInSync does just that. If you would like to remotely control a remote computer, you need a remote control software such as GoToMyPC, PCAnywhere or the free VNC.
